Oh, Wyrm! Demo/Proof of Concept
I'm very excited to present, my first game ever! It's not much (only the demo/test map currently) but I'm very proud of it, so please enjoy what's here!
Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!
V1.0 includes:
- 1 NPC, with a dialogue system to boot - talk to Cim to get the controls and instructions!
- 3 types of collectables, and 1 secret
- A collectable and to-do (achievements) list to track progress
- A grappling hook (of the "zipline" variety)
- Small "demo" map to play around in
- Settings menu, with accessibility options, as well as a title screen with credits

What a lovely little game so far :) The grappling hook could need some polish to make it easier to control. I like the feature where pressing space bar allows you to maintain velocity and stay in the air for a bit but it's a bit hard to tell when you can still press the space bar.I feel like a visual indicator like a bubble around the grappling hook telling you the area you have to enter to make the grapple hook retreat on its own would be nice. Just a suggestion, of course. It's also a bit weird how you immediately plummet to the floor when you hit a wall.
But enough with the negatives. Now's the part where I gush about how cute your art and characters are and how nice of a concept this is :) It's looking really cute so far so I can't wait for what else you'll do with the art style. Unfortunately I couldn't get a good look at the fine print on the baked beans, though :V Anyways, it's looking very nice so far and I see soo much potential in this and I'd love to see where you're going with this.
Only cool people can read this sentence.

Thank you! I'll see what I can do about your feedback with the grapple, but I am glad to hear that the art style I was aiming for has been communicated with so few assets! This kind of feedback is very important to me, so I appreciate it. Thanks again!
Pretty fun wish there was an ending cut scene and not sure if I got everything or not but all the list was checked the game play was interesting with the grappling hook being forever long kinda hard to land on smaller platforms if you couldn't attack it from the top, but take my critiques with a grain of salt hellaciously drunk my play through here!
Thank you for trying my game, and for all the feedback! I also really appreciate that you had a video as well, so I'll use this as an opportunity to make changes to the game to make it more accessible.
To answer some of the questions you had: It actually requires you to press ESC twice to pause the game, since the first press closes fullscreen and separates the cursor from the window. There is also no cutscene or reward or anything for getting all the collectables or achievements just yet, mostly due to how the game is structured currently - I planned to add something like this later down the line. Also, the uranium is meant to be a spent fuel cell.
Thanks to your video, I will try to address some of this in an upcoming patch! Once again, thank you for your contributions :)
Thanks for responding and good job on the game again!
